According to mythological belief, the birth of Hindu Lord Shri Ram is said to be 5114 BC, while the birth of Lord Shri Krishna is said to be 3112 BC. If we talk about current research, Hinduism is considered to be 12-15 thousand years old and is known to be about 24 thousand years old.

Hinduism’s earliest known sacred texts, the Vedas, date back to at least 3000 BCE, but some date them even earlier, to 8000–6000 BCE, and some Hindus themselves consider these texts to be of divine origin, and Therefore they are timeless.

What is Sanatan religion

The word Sanatan is made up of Sat and Tat, both of these words mean this and that. Sanatan Dharma has neither beginning nor end. What it means to say is that Sanatan Dharma has been prevalent since ancient times and will remain so for eternity. It has neither beginning nor end. Sanatan is infinite. This truth is called eternal.

God, soul and salvation are known through Sanatan. Death has become a puzzle even for science. In Sanatan Dharma, God, salvation and soul can be known through elements and meditation. It is very difficult to calculate the beginning year of Sanatan Dharma, but if current evidence is to be believed, Sanatan Dharma has been going on since time immemorial. The basic essence of this religion Sanatan Dharma is worship, chanting, penance, charity, truth, non-violence, mercy, forgiveness and Yama-niyama.

It is said that Gods, sages and even common man have uplifted themselves by following this path. Om is considered a symbol in Sanatan. In Sanatan Dharma, Shiva-Shakti, Brahma ji and Vishnu ji are considered equal. What this means is that people of all sects believe in Sanatan Dharma. The scriptures in this religion have been composed in Sanskrit language.

1) According to the Vedas, in Hindu Sanatan Dharma, four eras have been described as Satyayuga (17 lakh 28 thousand years), Tretayuga (12 lakh 96 thousand years), Satyayuga (17 lakh 28 thousand years) and Kaliyuga (4 lakh 32 thousand years). The worshipable Lord Shri Ramchandra of Sanatan Hindu religion was born in Tretayuga, the same Lord Shri Krishna was born in Dwaparayuga, and now Kaliyuga is going on.

2) Actually the name Hindu is given by foreigners. When the Turks and Iranians came to India in the medieval period, they entered through the Indus Valley. Sindhu is a Sanskrit name, due to lack of word ‘S’ in their language they were unable to say Sindhu, so instead of pronouncing the word Sindhu they started saying Hindu. In this way the name Sindhu became Hindu, and they started calling its inhabitants Hindu and that is how Hindustan got its name.

3) In Hindu religion, fasting is considered of great importance. In Hindu religion, fasting is observed on many occasions. It is believed that fasting purifies the body and mind and brings happiness and peace. From a scientific point of view, fasting provides many benefits to the human body. Due to fasting, all the body parts start functioning better. If there is any wear and tear in the body, the process of repairing it gets accelerated due to fasting, due to which the body gets quick benefits. By fasting the digestive system becomes balanced and healthy. Fasting also detoxifies the body.

4) There has been a tradition of performing Yagya, Havan etc. in Hindu religion since ancient times. For Yagya or Havan, mango tree branch, cow’s desi ghee and cow dung cakes are used in the fire. From the scientific point of view, performing Havan with cow dung removes the harmful bacteria present in the surrounding area, thereby purifying the environment.

5) Tulsi is considered to have special importance in Hindu religion. Almost all Hindus keep Tulsi plant in their homes. Worship of Tulsi brings happiness, peace and prosperity in the house. From the scientific point of view, the use of leaves of Tulsi plant is considered like nectar in many diseases.
