Mahatma Buddha was the son of King Shuddhodhana, who was the king of the Republic of Shakya. Buddha’s mother’s name was Mayadevi. At the time of birth, the parents named Buddha Rakumar Siddharth. After some time, Buddha was married to Yashodhara, daughter of King Suppabuddha, the King of the Koligal dynasty. Buddha and Yashodhara also had a son, named Rahul. But even after marriage, Buddha’s quiet spirit was increasing and his interest in worldly pleasures was ending. In this way, one day Buddha left his wife and son and quietly went towards the forest.
Buddha wanted to connect with his soul. He was in search of divine knowledge. So they had no connection with home, family, property or any other item. Because they did not get spiritual pleasure in these things. Buddha started doing penance by sitting under the Bodhi tree to find answers to many questions going on in his mind and after 6 years he attained complete and divine knowledge. In this way he became Mahatma Gautama Buddha from Prince Siddharth Gautam.
Mahatma Gautam Buddha died in Kushinagar, 483 AD, at that time he was 80 years old. Followers of Buddhism call it ‘Mahaparinirvana’. But Buddhist intellectuals and historians are not unanimous in the opinion of his death.
People kept coming to visit his death for 6 days. The body was burnt on the seventh day. Then there was a fight between King Ajatashatru of Magadha, the Shakiyas of Kapilavastu and Vidhawis of Vaishali. When the dispute did not end, a Brahmin named Drona entered into an agreement that the remains should be divided into eight parts. So did happen. Eight stupas were made in eight states and remains. It is said that later Ashoka removed him and divided him into 84000 stupas.
