1) When Yudhishthir was performing Rajasuya Yagya in Indraprastha, Shishupala was also present in the meeting. When Shishupala insulted Lord Krishna, Lord Krishna killed him with his Sudarshan Chakra. While returning, Lord’s little finger was slightly cut by Sudarshan Chakra and blood started flowing. Seeing this, Draupadi came forward and tore the pallu of her saree and wrapped it around Shri Krishna’s finger. At this time, Shri Krishna promised Draupadi that he would repay the debt of each thread. After this, when the Kauravas tried to disrobe Draupadi, Shri Krishna saved the honor of Draupadi by increasing the size of the cloth. It is said that the day when Draupadi tied the pallu of the saree on the wrist of Shri Krishna was on the day of Shravan Purnima.
2) Another story of Raksha Bandhan is related to Yudhishthir. It is said that Raksha Sutra had a major contribution in helping Pandavas win the Mahabharata war.
