1) Govardhan Parvat

Govardhan Hill, or Giri Raj, is 22 km from Vrindavan. The Holy Bhagavad Gita mentions that Govardhan Parvat is not different from Lord Krishna, according to Lord Krishna. All His worshippers thus worship the simple stones of the hill like they worship His idol. This hill is made of sandstone having a length of 38 km and a height of 80 feet.

Many important sites like Manasi Ganga, Mukharvind and Daan Ghati can be visited. History tells us that Lord Krishna lifted Govardhan Hill on one finger in his youth to save his Mathura village from heavy rains and thunderstorms. Therefore, this hill is considered holy and is visited by devotees on Guru Purnima, Govardhan Puja in devotion by walking around the hill for 23 km barefoot, which is called Govardhan Prakrit

Lord Krishna asked everyone to worship the hill after Lord Krishna saved his village. And so Govardhan Puja takes place a day after Diwali. It is a serene place, and definitely a must experience!

2) Krishna Temple

The Shri Krishna Janmasthan Temple is located in the holiest city of Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. It is constructed around the prison cell where his evil uncle Kansa imprisoned Lord Krishna, mother Devaki and Vasudev’s family. For Hindus, the temple holds great significance as it is considered to be the birthplace of Lord Krishna. Apart from the prison cell, there are other temples, dedicated to Lord Krishna, the holy aura and its simplicity, fills the heart with certainty, that this is indeed the place, where Lord Krishna revealed himself when he entered the temple.

3) Dwarkadhish Temple

One of the places to visit in Vrindavan Mathura, Dwarkadhish Temple is famous worldwide for its intricate architecture and paintings which was built in 1814, is relatively new but widely revered. Located within the perimeter of the city’s holy gate, close to the ghats of the Yamuna river, the temple and its surroundings are the hub of many interesting activities.

A series of exquisite ceiling paintings depicting various aspects of the Lord’s life and the splendid architectural designs and carvings of Rajasthani architecture make the complex look even more grand. 4) Radha Vallabh Temple Vrindavan

Radha Vallabh Temple, one of the seven temples in Thakur of Vrindavan, is located near Gautam Nagar on the rock of Banke Bihari Temple. This temple symbolizes the holy and spiritual devotion of Radha and Krishna, which is shown in the unique ‘Rasa-Bhakti’ form. There is no deity of Radha in the temple built by Lord Krishna. Alternatively, to indicate her presence, a crown is located next to Lord Krishna.

5) Vishram Ghat

A holy house located about 5 km from Mathura, on the banks of the Yamuna River, is the center of 25 ghats. Literally translating to a place of rest, Lord Krishna rested at this place after killing the evil demon Kansa. There is a huge crowd around the ghat during Bhai Dooj for a holy dip. One can also enjoy a boat ride at the ghat.

6) Kusum Sarovar Govardhan

A beautiful reservoir made of sandstone and a true relic of a bygone era, Kusum Sarovar has a flight of stairs that descend into the pond. According to folklore, this reservoir is named after Kusum, one of Radha’s maids. It is a great place to take a bath in summers. 7) Nandgaon Mathura

Around 50 km from Mathura, Nandgaon is a quaint town located in the Nandishwar Hills. It is the home of Krishnaji’s adoptive parents – Nandaji and Yashoda Maiyya. Shri Ranganath Temple is located on the Vrindavan-Mathura road, which is also known as Rangji Temple. 18) Prem Mandir

Prem Mandir was built in the year 2001 by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, which attracts devotees. Gardens, big tableaux are seen around the temple complex. It would be better to visit Prem Mandir in the evening, along with this you can also visit ISKCON Temple, Nidhivan, Govardhan Mountain, Kusum Sarovar, Dwarkadhish Temple and Yamuna Ghat.

This temple is dedicated to Radha Raman form of Lord Krishna. Radha Raman Mandir temple and its idol are very ancient and attractive, along with this the Aarti, Bhajan Sandhya here attracts devotees.

20) ISKCON Temple

In 1975, more than a thousand organizations together built the ISKCON temple in Vrindavan, a place where it is believed that Lord Krishna used to come there to play with his friends and offer Gaya. 21) Nidhivan

Nidhivan is one of the many beautiful sightseeing places located in Vrindavan. This is the most mysterious place located in Vrindavan. Nidhivan temple is located about 4 kilometers from Prem Mandir and 1 kilometer from Banke Bihari temple.

It is said that this is the same place where Lord Shri Krishna adorned Radha Rani and performed Maharas Leela with her. During the trip to Vrindavan, devotees definitely visit Nidhivan.

There is a temple of Lord Shri Krishna in Nidhivan, which also has the bedroom of Lord Shri Krishna. The temple houses a beautiful idol of Lord Krishna and Radha Rani. This place is mysterious because it is said that even today Lord Krishna and Radha Rani come here to perform Raasleela.

This is the reason why all the animals and humans leave the place before the Nidhivan temple closes in the evening. Because if any creature sees the divine power, it cannot survive.
