There are a total of 5 Jyotirlingas in Maharashtra, whose names and information about them are as follows –
1) Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga Temple
Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga is 100 km from Pune and is considered one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of India. Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga Temple is situated at an altitude of about 3,250 feet in the Sahyadri Hills. This place is one of the good places for trekkers including Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary. Bhimashankar temple opening time is 4:30 am and the temple closing time is 9:30 pm.
The Shivlinga installed in Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga temple is quite big as well as thick, due to which this temple is also known as Moteshwar Mahadev. Bhima river flows near Moteshwar Mahadev temple which joins the Krishna river.
2) Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga Temple
In Trimbakeshwar temple, three gods Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh are worshipped in small lingas. Located at a distance of about 28 km from Nashik, this temple is on the Brahmagiri hills in Trimbak. The opening time of Trimbakeshwar temple starts from 5:30 am and the closing time of the temple is kept till 9:00 pm.
The most amazing and main thing about Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga is that it has three faces (heads), which are considered to be the form of one Lord Brahma, one Lord Vishnu and one Lord Rudra. A gemstone studded crown is placed around this linga, which is considered to be the mask of Tridev. This crown has diamonds, emeralds and many precious gems. Trimbakeshwar temple, built on the banks of Godavari river, is constructed with black stones. The architecture of Trimbakeshwar temple is very amazing and unique.
There is a sanctum sanctorum inside this temple, after entering which the Shivlinga looks like an eye, which is filled with water. If looked carefully, three one-inch lingas are seen inside it. These three lingas are considered to be the incarnation of Tridev i.e. Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh. In this temple, the peace of Kalsarp Dosh is done by Vedic Pandits.
3) Ghrishneshwar Jyotirlinga Temple
Ghrishneshwar Temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas located in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Ghrishneshwar Temple is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Men are required to remove their upper clothes inside the sanctum sanctorum of Ghrishneshwar Temple. This is the only Jyotirlinga where devotees can touch the Shiva Linga with their hands. Ghrishneshwar Temple opening hours are from 5:30 am, and closing time of this temple is fixed at 9:30 pm.

It is said that by praying in this temple, devotees can protect themselves from all kinds of poisons. The opening time of Aundha Nagnath Temple is 4:00 am, its closing time is 9:00 pm.
It is believed that during their exile period, the Pandavas came here and stayed at this place for some time. At that time their cows used to go to the nearby river bank to drink water. After drinking water, the milk of those cows used to flow into the river automatically, as if the cows were offering milk to the river. One day Bheem saw this miraculous incident. He immediately told Dharmaraj Yudhishthira about this incident. Then Dharmaraj said, ‘Surely, some divine power is situated here.’ Then he searched and found Nagnath Jyotirlinga, after which he established this Jyotirlinga here.
5) Parli Vaijnath Jyotirlinga Temple
Parli Vidyanath Jyotirlinga is in Parli, Maharashtra. This temple is considered an important pilgrimage site especially for the devotees of Lord Shiva. It is believed that Lankapati Ravana worshipped Lord Shiva Shambhu at this place. The opening time of Parli Vaijnath Temple is 5:00 am and the closing time is 9:00 pm.
