Due to the earthquake, strong tremors were felt in many areas of Sikar district as well as Didwana, Churu, Nagaur districts. Earthquake tremors were felt in Sikar, Rajasthan on Saturday night. The intensity of this earthquake on the Richter scale was 3.9 magnitude. This is the second time this year that the land of Rajasthan has shaken. Earlier in the month of April, earthquake tremors were felt in Pali. The earth shook at 1:29 in the night. However, there was no loss of life or property in this earthquake. There is no news of any kind of loss in the earthquake that came on Saturday night. According to the National Center for Seismology, earthquake tremors were felt at 11:47 pm on Saturday night.
Seismology is used to measure the intensity of earthquakes. The higher the intensity of the earthquake in the seismograph, the greater is the risk of damage. The National Center for Seismology measures the intensity of earthquake tremors at 12 levels. Out of these, an earthquake of the first five levels is not considered very dangerous, but if the intensity is more than this, the risk of danger to life and property increases.
Earthquake of which magnitude is dangerous?
Usually an earthquake of 6-7 magnitude is considered dangerous. If an earthquake of this magnitude occurs in a highly populated area, it can cause loss of life and property. An earthquake of greater magnitude than this can be extremely dangerous. There is a risk of buildings bursting or cracking and sometimes even collapsing. Earthquakes of greater magnitude than this are also considered extremely dangerous.
Why do earthquakes occur?
In recent times, an increase in the incidence of earthquakes is being seen in many areas of the country and the world. Actually, there are 7 tectonic plates inside our earth. These plates keep rotating in their place continuously. However, sometimes there is a collision or friction between them. This is the reason why earthquakes are seen on earth.
